28 Sep Writing Week Update
Good Saturday morning this last week of September. The days continue to be spectacular in my corner of the universe. I curled my first game of the season last night and am feeling a bit achy this morning – a good achy though.
It was a decent writing week. I’m managing that 500-word a day minimum, now closing in on 15,000 words. The target is 80,000 to 90,000 words, so a ways to go yet. These first chapters are essentially laying out the crime and getting the investigation under way. My main characters are going through stuff too, and at this point, I have no idea how things will resolve. I am starting to fall back into Kala Stonechild’s character and voice again, and that feels good.
So, I’ve signed on to do one more Christmas fair with Don Butler at the Hintonburg Community Centre on November 30th. Once again, you can find an updated list with details of all my public events on the main page of my website. I’ve never gone the fair route before so these are trial balloons, the attraction being the camaraderie with my fellow writers and meeting new potential readers. There will be a gang of authors allĀ together at the Barrhaven Legion, so that fair will be particularly fun. In preparation, I created. poster that I took to Staples for printing. It’s difficult to know the proper size so I’m waiting to see how it turns out.
And that’s been my week. For those of you who’ve been asking about the Cold Mourning tv deal, I can tell you that things are still moving along but nothing concrete to report yet.
So the week ahead will find me plugging away at my keyboard and cleaning out the garden. I’ll check in with an update next Saturday, but until then, have a great week, everyone!
