19 Nov The Saturday Morning Catch-Up
A snowy weekend ahead, although nothing like the snowy weather they’re getting in Buffalo and in areas around Lake Ontario and other big bodies of water. I plan to stay indoors for the most part, turn on the gas fireplace, light a few candles, read a good book. Here are a few chilly suggestions … 🙂

This week, Crime Writers of Canada’s Erik D’Souza interviewed me as part of its 40th anniversary series of meet and greets. We had a great chat, covering a wide range of topics with several questions from participants. Unfortunately, you have to be a CWC member to access the video.
You can read my post on 7 Criminal Minds blogspot as I started off the week. The question concerned visiting an author’s haunts, either their own or a place in their stories. It was a fun question!
I got back working on my latest manuscript, book three in the Hunter and Tate series. I’d had time to think over the plot and changed some major points as I try to figure out how to best make the crime in the story work. Every manuscript is an adventure. Anyhow, next step is to finish making chapter notes and update the character list … and think some more!
Dundurn is not only having the last five books in the Stonechild and Rouleau series made into audiobooks, but they’re also reissuing all the books with new covers. To this end, I was asked to provide input, and this took the better part of a day. I’m interested to see what the designer comes up with.
And two more weeks until the one-day Maple Leaf Mystery Conference on Saturday, December 3rd. You can still register for $20 to participate in this event, featuring some mighty fine authors. It’s a great way to spend a cold Saturday in November.
