18 Apr Taking A Summer Break
And spring has finally arrived in the Ottawa Valley … for two days anyway. Flurries later this week, but no need to dwell on that now.
Thursday evening, Ted and I drove to Stittsville where I was guest author at a very entertaining book club which had been going for 21 years. All great friends, they live within walking distance of each other. They had read Cold Mourning and had lots of questions about the plotting and my writing. We drank wine, ate snacks and laughed a great deal. Ted also spent the time chatting with the host’s husband in the next room while we talked books. It was a most enjoyable few hours.

Also this week, Jennifer at The Book’s Better in Smiths Falls was in touch to set up an in-store signing in the summer. We picked Saturday, June 13 from 1:00 to 3:00. Jennifer also asked me to be on a murder mystery panel as part of a September book festival, date and time to be confirmed. Again, all my public appearances will be kept up to date on the main page of my website. It’s shaping up to be a busy year!
In addition to the Hunter and Tate series being available at Coles Carlingwood, Indigo Pinecrest and Coles Bayshore also have the books in stock. I continue to write the fifth in the series, which will be released next year after Nobody Tell, eighth in the Stonechild and Rouleau series. Speaking of which, Dundurn publicity sent a form to me this week that I’m in the process of filling out. It’s turning out to be quite time-consuming.
So this is my final post until September. It’s time to take a break for the summer, which I trust will be here before long. I’m still available to visit book clubs and you can reach me through the contact page on my website. Construction has also started on our street, which is being dug up for new water mains so I’m happy to get away from the house whenever possible 🙂 The street will be a dirty, dusty, noisy mess for two years – yay.
Have a wonderful summer, everyone and see you back here at its close. Keep reading and keep buying Canadian!
Cheers!
