14 Feb Still Going for Gold
Good Saturday morning and Happy Valentine’s Day! A day for wine and roses.
It’s been a week of watching the Olympics as well as going through my latest Hunter and Tate manuscript as I get ready to write the last 25,000 words. I did a light edit as I read and added a few thousand words. The story and plot lines appear to be holding together nicely. This is quite a suspenseful story on a few fronts — now, I just need to tie up all the ends! I’ve yet to give it a title but am starting to run ideas around in my head. Nothing to report yet 🙂
Dundurn has also sent a publicity task to me for Nobody Tell, which involves a bit of writing. I’ll try to get that done by Monday. We’ve also sent the draft manuscript to a couple of authors for an advance quote/recommendation. This is done routinely at this stage in a book’s production. I’ve given several myself after reading the manuscript. I’ve heard that some of the bigger-name authors don’t actually read the manuscript before giving a quote, but I’ve not witnessed this personally, and it’s not something I would do with a clear conscience. It’s always such an honour to have another author entrust you with their work.
Shayne at Coles Carlingwood tells me that he posted the video we made speaking about Sullivan Entertainment optioning Cold Mourning  for television, I’m guessing on Tik Tok, which I do not use. If you can find the link, please send along to me. Shayne plans to send the link, but hasn’t had a chance yet.
So, I’ll continue working on my unfinished manuscript this week as I finish off the second third, heading into the climax and reveal. Next Saturday, I’ll be going to The Book’s Better in Smiths Falls for an in-store signing and book club. You can sign up in advance for the book club if you’re in the area.
