07 Sep September & I’m Back Blogging!
Hi Everyone – This post means summer is drawing to a close and school is back. I’m sad about that, but happy to be blogging about my writing life. I hope you had a wonderful summer!
So today I will be at Indigo South Keys from noon to two p.m. signing copies of my books. This is my first time at this Chapters and hopefully I’ll meet some new potential readers. Come by and say hi if you’re in the vicinity. Visiting a bookstore is always a break in a rainy day.
I dropped in at Coles Carlingwood yesterday, and they’ve sold out of all my Hunter and Tate series, and not for the first time š They’ll be restocked in a few weeks and we’re lining up an October signing. Stay tuned if you’d like to get in some early Christmas shopping.
So how did I spend my summer you ask? No big trips although Ted and I went to some cottages for the odd overnight. We visited my cousin Janet in Magog – my first time in the beautiful Eastern Quebec townships – and we also spend a couple of nights in Kingston as I researched locations for my next Stonechild and Rouleau book. Yes, there will be a number eight if all the stars align! I finished the draft of book four in the Hunter and Tate series and that is currently in the editing process. I spent a lot of time writing this summer š
Kingston waterfront & a spark of inspiration
There was a bit of media coverage around the release of Fatal Harvest. An article by Charlie Senack in Kitchissippi Times, a Daytime Ottawa interview with host Derick Fage,Ā a full page spread with an excerpt from the book in the Ottawa Citizen, and an interview on House of Radio on NBC with host Alan R. Warren to discuss my short story in the anthology Larceny & Last Chances.Ā (Click on any green link to access the article or video.)
Through the late spring/early summer, I took part in several events and bookstore signings. It was a busy time but I got to meet a lot of readers and worked alongside some fellow authors. Rather than tell you about it, I’ll close with a few photos. More next Saturday as we turn the corner into autumn.
Have to start with this notice in Quill & Quire. Nothing new to report, but sometimes no news can be good news š
I was emcee at the launch of Don Butler’s 2nd book, Norman’s Conquest, Perfect Books. Best cake ever.
John Delacourt and I read & talked books at Octopus Books
I was guest speaker one morning at Coffee, Company & Conversation. Nancy Reid kept me company! Handmade thank you card on the right.
And so many bookstore signings! This pic is from Coles Bayshore.
