September Goings-on

September Goings-on

Good morning, everyone. We’re having a lovely week weather-wise in Ottawa although the autumn leaves have begun turning.

I’ve been busy editing the fourth in the Hunter and Tate series as I incorporate comments from my three beta readers before sending it off to my editor, Allister Thompson today. Then I’ll turn my attention back to the eighth Stonechild manuscript. I found that I can’t work on both series at the same time or I get confused. Anyhow, it will be great to take off my editing cap and get back to writing for a bit.

So writing news this week. I’ve added another Coles Carlingwood bookstore signing on Saturday, October 12. They also have signed copies of the Hunter and Tate series now, including Fatal Harvest. In addition, I’ll be part of a terrific lineup of local authors taking part in a pre-Christmas event at the Barrhaven Legion on Tuesday, November 19th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. A chance to get a leg-up on some gifts and to support local writers – mark your calendars and I’ll share more about the event soon.

This week, I received a book club invite that should be lots of fun. They are reading Fatal Harvest and we’ll be meeting at the Ashton Brew Pub, one of the settings in the book. Beer, chowder and book talk, what could be better? If your book club would like to invite me to a meeting, send along an email and we can arrange a date. Zoom works too for those not living in Ottawa.

Finally, I had a good signing at Chapters South Keys last Saturday, my first time in the store. I met some great people, including a fellow Capital Crime Writer named Anna. Fellow author John Delacourt stopped by to buy a copy of Cold Mourning. All in all a fun couple of hours. with decent sales. Thank you everyone for your support at these signings. Thanks also to those posting reviews and ratings on Amazon, Goodreads … all the usual places. They lift my spirits and help others to find my books.

And that’s it for this Saturday morning. Wishing you a lovely day in the September sunshine 🙂
