22 Apr One Week to the Launch!
We’re barreling toward the end of April and my summer break from this blog. I will still be posting on 7 Criminal Minds blogspot every other Monday – here is my post for this week, thanking some folks who helped me along the way.
I’ll be attending an event with Mike Martin in Kemptville at the public library, tentatively June 13, to be interviewed about our latest books and writing. If you want to find out where I’ll be and when, you can check the home page of my website where I post the details as well as any news.
When Last Seen received some terrific reviews this week and here are a few snippets:
“… my mind was working overtime trying to put all the pieces together. … The writing is clear and incisive and the characters are portrayed well. There are some secondary plots running in the background which added to my interest.”
“I thoroughly enjoyed this story. The two main characters are clever, compassionate and likeable, and quirky enough to be unpredictable. A hot and steamy July provides a tense backdrop as journalist Tate and detective Hunter try to solve two missing persons cases – a small child and a university student. In part this is an exploration of family dysfunction, and the impact of broken relationships on children, but also the resilience that can get people through bad times. Above all, it’s a darn good mystery with plenty of edge-of-your-seat action.”
Thank you again to everyone who not only read the book but take the time to post comments on the various sites. They really do help in more ways than I can say.
I spent a good part of this week rereading and editing the first 40,000 words in book three in the series, adding another 1000 words as I went. I still have 20 or so pages to go through before completing the review and starting on the last half of the manuscript. I plan to have the first draft finished by the fall. Wish me luck 🙂
I’ve revealed the first two book covers in the reissued Stonechild and Rouleau series, and here is book three’s new cover. If you enjoy audiobooks, watch for the release of the last five books in this format on May 23! You can also find Blind Date and When Last Seen in audiobook format now on all the various sites
And of course, we are fast approaching the book launch next Sunday, April 30 from 2-5 p.m. at Irene’s Pub on Bank Street. My daughter Julia will be giving introductions and there will be a special guest. I’ll do a brief reading too – all this set to start around 3:00 p.m. We will also have the Haughian Brothers Band providing entertainment and Perfect Books will be on hand with copies of my books for purchase. All are welcome so bring out your mystery reader friends.
