Last Week in March

Last Week in March

Good Saturday morning. This first week of spring and last week of March has felt like a continuation of winter. It’s snowing this morning as I type…

I made a decision this week to postpone the release of the fifth Hunter and Tate (manuscript I’m working on now) until next fall. The reason is that if I publish it this fall, it will be too close to the Stonechild book eight Nobody Tell release from Dundurn in January. It took me a while to arrive at this decision, but it feels right. I will have one, maybe two, short stories published in anthologies this year, so there is that. In this regard, I’ve hit 60,000 words on the Hunter and Tate manuscript and am rounding in on the ending. Now, I have lots of time to finish, edit, and get all my ducks in a row. The pressure has eased 🙂

I received another book club invitation this week for an evening in April in Stittsville. I also have the Zoom book club with a club in Kingston. Both clubs are discussing Cold Mourning with the Kingston group also reading Butterfly Kills. If you’d like me to visit your book club, shoot me a message through the contact page on my website. I can be there in person for clubs in the Ottawa area and by Zoom anywhere in the world. I’m a huge fan of book clubs and have been a member of one for many years. They are great social support groups and broaden one’s reading choices. Having visited lots of clubs over the years, each one is different but always made up of interesting and friendly (mainly) women.

I’ve also been invited to take part in an author panel at Indigo South Keys on Monday, May 24. I’m awaiting confirmation and will post details on the front page of my website once I know it’s a go.

So that’s my update for this week. I’ll be stopping posts soon for the summer, which has to arrive eventually. After all, the Blue Jays season opener was last night (a win) and this signals the changeover from winter to summer sports.

Have a great week, everyone.
