Last Event of the Year!

Last Event of the Year!

Good Saturday morning! You can catch me today at Indigo (Chapters) Rideau from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. No GST on books as of today, so a good chance to get some Christmas shopping done. This will be my last book event to cap off this busy year!

Last Saturday, Don Butler and I spent the morning at the Shenkman Centre’s Christmas craft fair while Amy Tector and John Delacourt took the afternoon shift. It’s a lovely venue with music and food. We again had decent book sales and met some friendly new and old readers. Several told me they’d read all my books and were waiting for the next to be published. It’s gratifying to know that I have fans! While Don continued with the cat burglar black ensemble, I went with the seasonal red.

Not much book news to report this week. I finished another round of editing on Who Lies in Wait; wrote a chapter in my latest manuscript; spent an afternoon doing bookkeeping. The usual stuff. I also gave my book recommendations on the Seven Criminal Minds blogspot on Monday. You can read them here if you haven’t already. My choices might surprise you. Looking back, I didn’t read a lot of crime fiction this year, which is unusual for me.

So after today’s signing, I’ll be jumping into the holiday festivities. We still get a real tree and will do that tomorrow. Then the parties and get togethers begin. By Boxing Day, you won’t be able to tell me apart from the stuffed turkey — there’s a lot of eating in my future. I still have a bit of Christmas shopping left to do and meals to plot. All in all, nothing too onerous and there will be lots of time to relax.

Come by and see me this afternoon if you’re also out and about. Only ten days til Christmas Eve!
