21 Sep Last Day of Summer
Another week in the books. We’ve had a gorgeous stretch of September weather to end the summer. I’ve been spending a lot of the day in the backyard, writing, reading and puttering in the garden. I’ve begun emptying the saddest-looking of the potted flowers even though it seems too early (but isn’t) with the first day of autumn arriving tomorrow. The lazy days of summer were great while they lasted!
So more details for you on this poster about the pre-Christmas event with a number of local authors at the Barrhaven Legion, organized by Peggy Blair. I’ll publicize more as we get closer.
I’ve also signed up to be at the Orleans Christmas craft market with Don Butler, Amy Tector and John Delacourt on Saturday, December 7th. We’ll be in two shifts, so I’ll be sure to post more about this event once the details are finalized. All my public events are kept up to date on the main page of my website if you’d like to catch me somewhere.
Last Saturday, I sent my latest manuscript off to Editor Allister Thompson – this is the fourth in the Hunter and Tate series – and anxiously await his feedback. In the meantime, I’ve continued working on the eighth Stonechild and Rouleau book. It’s like being back with old friends after a long hiatus. I’m about twelve thousand words in and getting back on a daily-word count schedule. My goal is a minimum 500 words. Yesterday, I managed a thousand.
Monday, I blogged on 7 Criminal Minds about how long I’ve been a ‘professional writer’ with advice to my younger self. You can read the post here if you missed it.
So, my week, not unlike summer, is a wrap. I’m planning another week of writing and book business – drop by next Saturday to the blog to see what’s new 🙂
