Into the Swing

Into the Swing

And another week has flown by.

I have/had three events this week. The first took place Wednesday evening and was the launch of a Capital Mystery 2 at the Metropolitan on Sussex. It’s a lovely venue for a launch. The room was packed and most of the contributing authors were present. Susan Johnston from CKCU was MC and did a great job introducing readings and panels. I was up first to read from “Stormy, Stormy Night” and other authors read snippets as well. The first panel introduced first-time-published authors and the second was made up of second-time contributors. You can purchase the book at most Ottawa bookstores and on Amazon.

This morning, I’m on my way to Casselman with Don Butler where we’ll share a table at the Eastern Ontario Writers’ Festival in the Casselman Library. It runs all afternoon from 1 until 4 p.m. and will feature a number of local authors and vendors. Come by if you’re in the area.

Sunday morning, I’ll be heading to the Station Theatre in Smiths Falls with fellow authors Katie Tallo and Tamara Miller. We’ll be on a panel moderated by Bob Perreault, Operations Manager and News Director at WOW 92.3 FM. This is part of the first-ever Smiths Falls literary festival, which takes place over the entire weekend. It should be great fun. You can buy a ticket at the door and our books will be for sale from the Book’s Better all weekend as well. Our panel runs from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.

I haven’t been writing for the past few weeks since I finished the fifth Hunter and Tate draft although I’m beginning to miss working on a story. I figure it won’t be much longer before I start the next one in the series. I have been working on some publicity with Dundurn for the January 5 release of Nobody Tell. Three bookstore signings are already lined up and Dundurn has asked me to attend the Ontario Library Association conference in Toronto in January. They’ll be planning another event to coincide. Life is going to get busy again!

Well, not much time to chat this week with everything going on. I hope you also are enjoying this beautiful September weather, and maybe I’ll see you in Smiths Falls or Casselman. Covering a lot of ground this weekend!
