Happy Thanksgiving Weekend

Happy Thanksgiving Weekend

Good Saturday morning.

I’m kicking off this Thanksgiving long weekend with a two-hour signing at Coles Carlingwood, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. It’ll be interesting to see if the mall is busy or quiet, but regardless, I always enjoy chatting with store staff and meeting whoever comes by. Shayne, my contact at the store, is super supportive and makes it a pleasure to visit. Come by if you have the chance.

I didn’t get much writing in this week and for good reason. On Sunday, we got the call we’d been waiting for – our younger daughter Julia had gone into labour. It meant a drive to their house to look after George (dog) while we awaited further news. Maeve arrived at 4:35 that afternoon, weighing in at 6 lb. 13 oz. Our older daughter Lisa had given birth to a daughter Paige nearly 10 months earlier, making us thrilled, two-time grandparents and giving each baby a cousin to grow up alongside.

Lisa and Paige                                                                  Welcome to the world, wee Maeve

One more event to mark on your calendar. Next Saturday, October 17, you will find me and 24 other mystery authors all in one place at the Jack Purcell Community Centre, first time to ever have this many of us crime fiction authors in one place. It’s a great chance to chat with writers and stock up on Christmas gifts. There will also be readings interspersed throughout the afternoon. You can register on Event Brite, but it’s also fine to just show up on the day.

I wish you a good long weekend, hopefully with some turkey and pie on your menu (or whatever feast you most enjoy). This is such a beautiful time of year.
