15 May Back in September
Good May morning, everyone!
The Ottawa weather has taken a turn into summer-like weather as the pandemic stay-at-home order was extended until June 2nd. This will be my last blog post until September although you can always follow me on Twitter (brendaAchapman), and Facebook & Instagram (BrendaChapmanAuthor). If I have news, you’ll find it there!
This past Thursday evening, I was part of a Zoom panel with Gail Bowen, Barbara Fradkin and Vicki Delany, moderated by Melodie Campbell as part of the Ontario Association of Library Technicians annual conference. This was the first event I’d been part of for months, and it was a lot of fun chatting about our books and the craft. I have another library event lined up in October in Smiths Falls – an actual in-person gathering – and the idea of Covid being controlled enough for people to meet indoors is wonderful to contemplate.
I made some progress on my latest mystery, now over 6000 words in. Since we’re still so limited in what we can do, I expect to continue typing away for the weeks to come. Hopefully, I’ll have publication news by September 🙂
I’ve received some really lovely and encouraging emails from readers this past while and thank everyone who has taken the time to drop me a line. The ratings and reviews on Goodreads continue to rise as the number closes in on 5,000. That’s a lot of people reading the books!
So, no big plans for the summer. Gardening has begun and I expect this will be a big part of my days in addition to writing and reading. I’m hoping that next time I post on this blog life will be closer to normal. Until then, stay safe, stay connected, and enjoy the lovely weather. I’ll catch up with you in September 🙂
