A Happy, Busy Week!

A Happy, Busy Week!

Into the Christmas season! I will be signing at Chapters Rideau this afternoon from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. – the store has copies of both the Stonechild and Rouleau and Hunter and Tate series. Come by if you can! I’ll be meeting a reporter from Apartment 613 afterwards for an interview – this is an arts and culture site with the latest news about what’s happening in Ottawa – definitely worth saving in your favourites.

Thursday morning, bright and early, Don Butler and I took the transitway downtown to be on the CTV morning show to talk about Crime for Christmas. This event with nine local crime fiction and thriller writers will be held Tuesday, November 19 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Barrhaven Legion at 3500 Fallowfield Road. Free parking, a bar, treats, mingling, signed books for Christmas gifts. What’s not to love. You can watch Don’s and my interview at this link.

I got in some writing time this week, now up to 24,000 words and counting. I also spent more time going over a couple of contracts and hope to have these finalized very soon. I’ve got enough publicity, marketing and bookkeeping tasks to keep me busy for a while. (Who needs sleep anyway?)

And my cover designer sent along some options for Who Lies in Wait. I chose one and she’s working on some of my suggestions to give me a few options with the basic design. I think you’re going to like this one! My copy editor will have the manuscript back to me soon to go through again. I feel like I’m juggling bits of my life sometimes 🙂

So, no time to waste! I’m off to get ready for my afternoon signing and a trip downtown. If I don’t see you at Chapters Rideau, maybe we’ll cross paths at Crime for Christmas on Tuesday. Don’t forget you can purchase a drink, chat with some fine local writers, knock a few gifts off your list, and get in the holiday mood 🙂

I know many of you are turning away from Twitter. While I still have an account, I joined Bluesky this morning, which operates like Twitter but the news (and truth) is vetted. You can find me under my name.

Finally, this week, I’d like to celebrate my daughter, Lisa Weagle, who received the Order of Ottawa from Mayor Mark Sutcliffe for her curling, coaching and philanthropic achievements. We couldn’t be prouder.
