A Lull

A Lull

And we’ve successfully made it through another week! Happy Saturday, everyone.

I’ve not accomplished much since last blog posting on the writing front. I seem to have stalled as I work out the last part of the latest Hunter and Tate manuscript, only managing a few thousand words. I fall asleep lately trying to come up with a title. One of these days, I’ll buckle down and get to the ending. I also received the name of the person who won the draw at Curling for a Cause to have their name in this book. The raffle alone raised $1400 for cancer research!

An unexpected email this week from Dundurn with the Nobody Tell final manuscript in book form for me to review if I have time. Of course, I can’t resist one final look. Something else to distract me from writing this week 🙂 It’s too late to revise, so I’ll strictly be looking for errors in spelling and punctuation.

I was saddened last month to learn that Westboro Books was closing. It was so great to have an independent bookstore in our neighbourhood and Shilhav, the owner, became a friend over the past few years. She featured my books and sales were good. I will miss her and wish her all the best in her future endeavours.

I hadn’t realized last week when I visited the Rockland Library that somebody was taking photos. Anyhow, here they are. I’m perched atop a high chair as you can see. A nice shot of me with my mouth open – I was reading an excerpt from Bleeding Darkness, probably my favourite Stonechild book in the series.

During my week of procrastination, I read The Correspondent, which I enjoyed immensely and highly recommend. It’s written as a series of letters and so well done. I was drawn into the story immediately. My own book club has selected ‘any Reese’s pick’ as our genre for March.

It rained overnight and is a grey, wet morning. Luckily, the Brier is heading into the finals today so we have indoor entertainment.  And don’t forget the time change Sunday!
