On the Road Again

On the Road Again

I’m on the road this weekend. We drove to Cornwall on Wednesday to watch our daughter Lisa curl in the ladies provincials. They’ve had an excellent week, finishing first in the round robin, and will be in the final this evening at 8 p.m. The tension mounts!

On Thursday, I caught the train to Toronto to take part in the Ontario Library Association Super Conference on Friday. I signed in the Dundurn booth alongside Barbara Fradkin in the morning and took part in the Crime Writers of Canada book pitches in the early afternoon before catching the train back to Cornwall. My pitch went well and it was fun to hear what the other authors had to say about their books. I also got to spend some time with my friend Dawn  – she always makes sure I get where I need to be 🙂 A good but exhausting trip.

The email invites to the May 9 book launch have arrived from Dundurn so I’ll have to get busy sending them out, but I’ll probably wait a few more weeks. If they’re sent too early, chances are people will forget. Too late and people will already be busy with other commitments. It’s a fine line.

The first blogger advance reviews for Closing Time are posted on Goodreads and so far, they’re great. You can find them at this link.

As for my latest manuscript, I’ve completed two more rewrites/reviews and have resent the amended text to my readers. This week, I plan to get working on a query letter and expect this to take some tinkering.

I’ll leave off here as we get ready to go to the curling rink. Lots of excitement ahead today. Might not have any nails left come midnight.
