Launching Baby #24

Launching Baby #24

We’re into the last week of March and next week at this time, When Last Seen will be available in paperback, ebook and audiobook formats! This is my 24th published book — I can hardly believe it. I’ve been at this so long that Dundurn is re-issuing the Stonechild and Rouleau series with new covers. Cold Mourning was published 9 years ago!

There will be a few interviews and reviews coming out around the time of When Last Seen‘s April 1st launch date. I’ll also be on Daytime Ottawa on Tuesday, April 4th for those of you who have Rogers. I’ll post the video as well once it’s available. The in-person launch is coming soon too at Irene’s Pub, and I’m hearing from lots of people that they plan on attending. It should be a fun party with the Haughian Brothers Band as our entertainment. The pub is just south of Fifth Avenue on Bank Street on the east side of Bank for anyone who hasn’t been. When we went to check it out, we parked on Fourth Avenue and walked two blocks, so there should be lots of places on the side streets to park.

I’m getting back into the writing groove but am not as consistent as I’d like to be. This is rather normal for me I have to admit. I should start picking up steam as I get closer to the end. I’m kind of predictable that way. I think that because I write the story as it happens, I need the time to let the plot percolate in my head. It’s either that or I’m good at procrastinating.  In any case, I have a target date for the first draft in mind that I aim for so that I can get started on the editing.

I received more lovely feedback this week from reviewers. One woman told me that her book club is reading Blind Date for April’s meeting and invited me if we can work out the details. There’s nothing nicer than hearing a stranger is reading my books and can’t wait for the next one … very cool.

The Glebe Report posted its When Last Seen review. The previous reviewer liked Blind Date, but this one less so. She liked When Last Seen though, so this is a plus 🙂 This is her praise for the latest book:

“…compelling characters, an interesting plot and a conclusion that one does not see coming.”

Here is the latest comment about When Last Seen on NetGalley:

“This book kept me guessing nonstop I did not see any of these twists and turns. It was a wild ride. I love a mystery (especially detective ones) that keep me guessing and this book was just that. I binged this book and it was worth it.”

So all in all, a good week and looking forward to turning the corner into April!
