Getting ‘Er Done

Getting ‘Er Done

It has been a busy week!

Last Saturday, I joined Barb Fradkin at Chapters Barrhaven as part of a Crime Writers of Canada mystery weekend. These events are always fun since not only do I get to talk to readers there’s also time to catch up with other authors about what is going on in their lives. Mary Jane Maffini and Linda Wiken came early for their shift so we had a nice overlap. Thanks to my former colleague who stopped by – so great to see you and know that you and your husband are both enjoying my series!

I didn’t manage to get much editing/writing done this week because I was in a curling bonspiel called the Beddoe – a city-wide competition for ladies teams made up of skips and thirds. I was put in as skip of our team and we managed to win the entire thing! This is the first time I have my name on a trophy as a skip so feels a bit of alright 🙂

The team – me, Margaret Sommerville, Ann Anderson and Louise Lafleur

This Monday, November 24, I’ll be back on 1310 News The Power Lunch from noon to 12:30. You can tune in on the radio or Rogers Cable 22 if you’re in the Ottawa area. They broadcast live with no do-overs …. Yes, this is as anxiety-producing as it sounds, but it’s also fun to meet other guests and chat with the host Mark Sutcliffe, who makes the experience relaxed and a pleasure. Anyhow, I’ve spent much too much time watching the impeachment proceedings on television and staying up on the news but this should come in handy for Monday’s show.

Next up on my schedule is the Capital Crime Writers Christmas dinner on December 11 where I’ll be the evening’s entertainment along with Barbara Fradkin. We’ll be interviewing each other and I’m going to have to get my head around some questions. I’m also looking at the calendar and realizing Christmas is a month away and I’ve got nothing done to prepare. (This is also anxiety-producing.)

Today is a work day at the computer for me as I finally finish the last of the edits on the latest manuscript and tackle a few other tasks hanging over my head. I find the best way to get rid of the panic is to get busy knocking things off the to-do list. This could be a three-coffee morning!

Have a great week everyone.
