24 Sep Catching Up
Fall has arrived and our lovely summer is officially in the rear view. My first in-person event is coming up next Saturday at the public library in Almonte, and I’m looking forward to seeing some real live people! Here are the details if you’d like to make the drive out – I’ll be chatting about my writing journey and reading from Blind Date between 1:00 and 2:00 p.m.
I spent a couple of hours last Saturday signing books at Coles Carlingwood, meeting some new readers as part of the store’s 25th anniversary. If you’d still like a copy, I signed a bunch and left them with the staff.
I also dropped of some signed copies of Blind Date at Ottawa’s newest independent bookshop, The Spaniel’s Tale, in Hintonburg (on Wellington north near Rosemount) What a lovely space and such an addition to the neighbourhood. They also offer all of my books from Dundurn if you need to complete your collection 🙂 They even have my middle grade Jennifer Bannon mystery series! Here is the link.
So my writing week. I spent a few afternoons working on my latest manuscript, adding about 2000 words and refining the last chapter I’d written. I’m in this odd position of working to get book two in the series finalized and chomping to get working on book three. As a result, I don’t make much progress on either. I’m going to have to buckle down and get more disciplined. I need to go through book two one more time with an eye to the timeline, so this is my goal for the upcoming week. I also have to prepare my library talk (sort of done but not completely), and maybe I’ll have some time to write.
So lots going on and a busy enough last week of September ahead. Wishing everyone a good weekend!
