It is January 3, 2026. We've taken down the Christmas tree and put away the decorations. It's time to get this new year underway! I've taken this break from life and schedules to continue writing the latest Hunter and Tate manuscript, which still doesn't have a...
And Christmas is over with New Year's Eve on our doorstep. I hope you are having a lovely holiday season as we enter the last week of 2025. This is the time I like to look back on my writing year that was before turning...
And Christmas Eve is only four days away! Are you ready?! I've corralled most of what I need to do -- some gifts wrapped, tree half decorated, food nearly bought. Still gobs of time left for the finishing touches. In amongst all this Christmas preparations, I've...
Good Saturday morning! It promises to be another snowy, cold day here in Ottawa much like every day this past week. Just in time to put us in the Christmas spirit. Last Saturday, Don Butler and I spent the morning selling our books at the Orleans...
And that's another week in the books. Last Sunday afternoon, I took part in Crime for Christmas at the Barrhaven Legion, an event spearheaded by Peggy Blair. It was great to get together with the other authors and meet readers, many who had come out last...
Good Saturday morning. And tomorrow is the big day - Crime for Christmas will be happening at the Barrhaven Legion between 1:00 and 4:00 p.m.! Your one-stop shopping spot for mystery book stocking stuffers, not to mention delicious free goodies and a bar where you can...
Good Saturday morning, my friends. It's an overcast, freezing rain kind of week, but won't let grey November skies get us down. Today, I'm signing books at Coles Carlingwood from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. and hope you can come by and say hi. It's getting on...
Looks like winter is arriving by snowstorm tomorrow with some plummeting temperatures on Monday. We've had such a lovely long stretch of good weather that this is a huge change. Time to find the winter coat. But today, you can come out to Kichesippi Brewery in...
And just like that, we are into November! Of course, everyone in Canada is watching the Blue Jays in the World Series. No matter how it ends, the team has done Canada proud ...
How about those Jays? It's been an exciting run and not over yet! Ted and I watched the games all summer long, so we're quite invested in the team and hoping they go all the way, despite the odds. One game down and three to...
Happy crisp October morning to you. It's been a busy, social kind of week with the release of A Capital Mystery, an anthology of short stories by Ottawa authors with all the stories set in and around Ottawa. The book has received terrific reviews and...
Happy Thanksgiving to all my Canadian friends! We are celebrating this evening with family and friends since this is the only day everybody is free. Ted will be cooking a turkey on the barbecue and we've got a bit of a potluck going on -...
First Saturday in October, and we're squarely into autumn. I've cleaned out 1/3 of my 30 flower pots, but the weather has been so glorious that I'm giving the rest a reprieve until the frost hits. Today, we're going up to 27 degrees C! It was...
Another Saturday has rolled around, the last weekend in September. Still lots of green on the trees, so I've put off cleaning out my flower pots, but plan to get at it this week while it's still mild. Not my favourite task ever. Well, I did...
And another week has flown by! No rain and endless sunshine ...
Good Saturday morning! We are half-way through September with some gorgeous weather in the Ottawa Valley. The leaves are just beginning to change as the nights get crispy. I love this time of year. Last weekend was the inaugural St. Lawrence Writers Festival in the beautiful...
Welcome back, everyone! The summer sped past like a drunken night in the Byward Market. So much has happened since I last blogged! To begin, I will be in Brockville at the inaugural St.Lawrence Writers' Festival tomorrow (Sunday) at one o'clock at the Arts Hub alongside...

So Who Lies in Wait is officially launched. This past Thursday evening, Dalal, Manager of the Ottawa Curling Club, hosted my latest book launch, and it was a terrific venue. There was a good-sized crowd with Jim, owner of Perfect Books, on site to sell...
