Beavering Away

Beavering Away

Isn’t March zipping along?

On Tuesday, I presented a webinar on writing a mystery short story to the Active Jewish Adults 50+ organization, and it appeared to go very well. It’s the first time I ever prepared and gave a virtual Powerpoint presentation and took me several hours of research and prep. They invited me back when my next book comes out so that’s a good sign 🙂

I announced the name of my audiobook narrator at my virtual launch last week. Heather Williams is the CHEZ 106 evening host and I was lucky enough to be introduced to her through Mark Sutcliffe and Amy Volume (another CHEZ DJ). Heather has been doing a fabulous job bringing my words and characters to life, and she’s entering the home stretch. Heather is also able to produce and edit the narration and we’ve been going chapter by chapter to get every word right. The Blind Date audiobook should be available on all the audiobook sites in April. I’ll be letting you know when it’s released! It has been a very fun project albeit a lot of work.

I also wrote a blog post for Mystery Lovers Kitchen and this included making a recipe and taking photos as part of the post. It will be posted April 1st, and I swear that it’s only a coincidence that my recipe is featured on April Fools Day.

So, next Tuesday, I’ll be virtually visiting an Orleans book club to talk about my books and writing. They purchased several copies from Perfect Books last month and I stopped in to sign them before someone picked them up. Visiting a book club through Zoom isn’t the same as meeting everyone in person, but it can still be a fun experience.

I’ve done exactly no writing this week, but that will change in the week to come. I stalled a bit on the next chapter but have worked it out in my head. Speaking of storing ideas in my head, here is my Monday blog post on 7 Criminal Minds, answering this week’s question about my idea filing system. Those who know me best won’t be surprised.

I’ll end by saying a huge thank you to everyone who’s been posting photos and rating my latest book on Amazon, Facebook and Goodreads or sending messages to me. All are greatly appreciated!
